Kate Banazi’s current work celebrates the interactions of colour and form through silkscreen prints and coloured acrylic sculptures. Relationships, identity, movement, shadows, play on light and colour are mapped through interlocking shapes. Negative space and line work plot chaos, voids and beauty.
Kate’s series for Sydney Contemporary draws on her mixed heritage. Her inspiration is grounded and comes from a distinctive place in her family’s history where interactions of colour, sound, story and conversations abound.
