Says Darcy of this work: “This work is a depiction of Henri Mattisse from a series of painters who have inspired me to create art. Matisse’s artworks changed everything about painting for me. He creates such impactful works with his structures and ideas along with demonstrations of bold colour combinations which is hugely inspiring. If I ever get stuck or experience a creative block I often look to Mattisse for inspiration. He worked so hard at creating the perfect balance in painting and all his works of art.”
