Lily Cummins is an artist based in the Southern Highlands, NSW. She works with a combination of abstract and recognisable forms, questioning the idea of representation and creating a dream-like patchwork of memory. A language of marks and shapes defines Lily’s work as she observes her surroundings and translates them into drawings.

Lily says of this work: ‘By compressing shapes and arranging the composition of parts to be both mutually supportive and independent, this imagined landscape becomes a unified whole. The use of vertical lines suggests a stability and strength present in landscape.’
