A cross-continent collaboration between Australia-based artist, Kate Banazi, and Spain-based artist, Diego Berjon, results in a striking monotone work.

Says Kate: “This is one of my favourite pieces out of our collaboration so far. Diego first and then my silk screen over. The texture on this piece is beautiful – the spontaneity of Diego’s brush marks present as if a secret code, a mathematical formula to be deciphered. The commitment over going over this was HUGE! I felt the need to bring in something contained as if it was attempting to make sense of the underlying dynamic. And the way it laid down over the peaks of the textured ink was unexpected and wonderful.”

Says Diego: “For this one I made a bold pattern-like composition for the background, leaving Kate the option of completing the piece with another pattern or simply avoiding it and breaking the grid. Which she did in a fantastic way, I should say.”

Signed on front by both artists.
