Framed in Tasmanian Oak

Painter and visual artist, Ingrid Daniell, lives on the Surf Coast of Victoria, Australia, where the land and seascapes that surround her inspire her work. Places that are close to her life and experiences are never far from her paintings – the rugged Surf Coast and Great Ocean Road; remote Australia and its many national parks; the vast Australian coastlines and desert camps.

Says Ingrid of this work: “This particular piece was informed by my time spent on the Ningaloo coast of Western Australia; a rugged, raw desert coast where the bluff we camped was once part of an ancient coral reef; the weight and structure of the massive chunks of coral from the lower Paleozoic era is in stark contrast to the ephemeral transient seaweed portraits I love to observe on my home beach in Victoria … but none the less both so beautiful and powerful.”
