Collective Distance: Bridging The Gap

Amanda Schunker

Acrylic, marble dust and canvas + board

86cm  H x 125cm W

Framed in your choice of matte black or raw Tasmanian oak

This work can be hung vertically or horizontally.

This work is exploring the idea of collective distance during this time of isolation. The subliminal tension of the void that surrounds us during our current climate. Encapsulated by space, distance and an almost tangible reach to those we love.

Amanda Schunker is an eclectic cultural mix of Chinese/Anglo/Indian heritage. Over the years she has quietly worked away to make a claim on her identity, always taking refuge in nature, wherever that may be in the world. It is through this process of deconstruction of the familiar and cultural conditioning that she has developed her own dialogue of abstract responses to her natural environment.
