In her work Days Beginning in Sofala, Fleur hopes to convey the energy of moving through a landscape during a crisp early morning. The surface is built up with overlapped spray-painted marks and gestural brushstrokes, creating varying textural elements and a composition with dynamic shifts in perspective.
Colour is used to create a balance of harmony and tension, exploring the days end with final glimpses of a blue sky and a large shadow slowly enveloping areas of the landscape.
