Says Susie of her work: “This painting is about home and the journeys we make to and from home. It is about the warmth of familiarity which seems to have a beauty only in contrast with strangeness. To me, the concept of  ’home’ can be anywhere that has the warmth of familiarity, it could be a place, or with a person, or it could be a moment of looking inwards in solitude.”
