Drawing on mid-century architecture as a basis for this work, says Mairi: “I developed this piece after finding an old magazine which had this particular building in one of the images. I was drawn to the shape and geometric quality of the architecture and I wanted to build a piece which centred and worked well around this. When I had the basis of the imagery I began to add other elements which I felt worked well and added more of a narrative.”
