Says Susie of this work: “Here Comes the New World has been painted during the 2020 Coronavirus self-isolation period when a wide angle of feeling was swirling around me and my fellow humans – like a weather system that encompassed the whole world. The painting begins with a colourful dawn, dots on the surface of the painting indicate some kind of co-ordinates, some sort of mapping, some attempt at a new orientation. This work envisages a world that will never be the same. And why would we want it to be?
