How do we engage our memories, even if they are painful, to act as a tool to guide us forward? Familiar objects such as hills hoist clothes lines and small houses decorate the scenes and allow for day dreaming of a time long forgotten. Silhouettes of floating women recall the women in my life; my Mother, my Grand Mother and Sisters, some are absent and yet they are ever present in my mind. Small lines mark the passage of time, fading in and out of view as time is slippery, like memory and I cannot hold it, wind it back or make it stop.
These are intimate drawings that speak to universal themes of love, loss and the silence in between.”
