Curatorial+Co. presents The Colour of Country – a collaborative offsite exhibition in our Woolloomooloo gallery with the National Indigenous Art Fair (NIAF), co-curated by Dunghutti/Gomeroi curator Nioka Lowe-Brennan, from 2–19 July 2025.

“The work of Tartukula artist Lindy Brodie speaks to her deep knowledge of the history of the Barkly region. Her landscape paintings capture the Barkly’s striking terrain in vivid colour while depicting generations of human intervention on country. With her signature use of cadmium orange Lindy communicates the colour of the earth, upon which she builds texture with layers of paint, painstakingly adding details to indicate the unique features of the land around the Barkly. Spinifex, ant pits, and eucalypti with bright white trunks are scattered throughout her paintings, which bear strong a resemblance to the landscape, despite the degree of abstraction which Lindy injects into her work. The presence of people in this landscape constantly makes itself known with the presence of trains, planes, cars and people.”
