Says Ileigh Hellier of her work: “My works are influenced by the natural landscape around me. They are quite abstract and I often use exaggerated or simplified colours, shapes and textures to represent things. I think this is one of the things that I enjoy most about painting. Being able to paint something but not necessarily portraying what it actually looks like. There is a lot of freedom and play in that.”
