Says William of why is work is DARING: “I quite often will shatter something into pieces just to see the inside of it. More often than not, I’m fascinated by the cross sections of things. I always want to see what’s on the inside of my works, but have never had the courage to cut it open. For DARING, I finally gave myself the chance to cut one of my paintings into thin slices as if it were a slab of stone. What surprisingly emerged from the fluid and organic patterns was a beautifully rhythmic pattern that I’ve never seen in my own work before.”
