Bettina Willner-Browne’s Thought Pattern ceramic sculpture evokes a time past, of licorice and sorbet colour, and serpentine clay loops that are sensory and emotive. But the artist also represents the contemporary with her innovative use of materials.
“The form and colour in my work are drawn from the natural landscape, architecture, nostalgia and popular culture,” explains Bettina. “What I am ultimately trying to achieve within my practice is to make work that represents now – this time that we live in through my interpretation. The outcome is to produce emotive pieces – sculptural works through material innovation within the ceramic medium.”
