Says Tiarna Herczeg of this work: "‘My Dreams Led Me Here’ continues a recurring pattern of flowers I often trace within my practice, but this is the first time I have pushed this pattern further - creating space for the viewer to be inside the work by outlining everything and revealing the spaces in between.

"This body of work arrived at a moment of transition for myself. As the season changes, I've reflected on the many challenges I've faced this year and how they have pushed me more into myself. My family left Sydney and moved to Queensland to care for my now late Grandmother, Lynette. Her progression into the dreaming has left a big imprint on my life. My connection to her, although not directly depicted is implied through the making of these works; memories, colours, shapes. A lot of these works come from dreams, some places I know and some places I can't fully grasp. Others are from memory. Sometimes its hard to tell them apart. Like they exist together and inform each other.

"The flowers repeated in the two works ('My Dreams Led me Here' and 'Warmed Fruits') resemble life continuing. It comes from a pattern I have painted before. Only this time I made the time to sit with it further. I laboured over it, over a period of weeks. Tracing around every mark, pulling me and the viewer into the darkness, just as much as the light, creating balance".
