Curatorial+Co. is delighted to showcase a limited number of work by Nova Scotia-based artist, Sasha Court. Says Court of her practice, "My work begins with a quiet impulse—an emotional thread I follow slowly into form. I build each vessel by hand, allowing its shape to emerge through intuition, rhythm, and response. The process is deliberate yet open, guided by a desire for harmony between form and finish.
This piece is part of 'Fragility, Held'—a body of work shaped by the tension between fragility and resilience. Each piece is a vessel for dualities; spirit and form, softness and strength, the seen and the felt. In clay, I find a mirror—delicate yet durable, breakable yet enduring. This collection holds two truths at once: that we are shaped by what touches us, and that we remain, even as we change. This collection is a gentle reminder that what’s most tender often holds the most power.
"I think of my ceramics as holding spaces—objects that contain not only volume, but feeling," Says Court. "There is an intentional coalescence in the way each form meets its surface: soft contours meet matte, textured finishes; structural weight is tempered by subtle imperfections. This meeting point—between shape and skin—is where the emotional resonance lives."
