In Wyangala, the land holds its own quiet rhythm–light glancing across granite forms, wind bending through grass, the slow turning of time inscribed in every contour. Immersed in this landscape, Belinda Street paints not only what she sees, but what she feels: the shimmer of heat, the memory of footsteps, the echo of presence that lingers long after we pass. The artist’s brushstrokes move like weather–bold, searching, alive–translating sensation into colour and rhythm. Each gesture speaks of connection and transience, of how place imprints itself upon us. Created en plein air, the weather during that week was beautiful- warm days, cold nights. It was early Autumn, but I still needed to seek out shade in order to work through the middle of the day. It was this heat that dominated my palette."
