The 'Sitting in Tjoritja (East Mac Ranges)' paintings are significantly about the energy of a place. An afternoon sitting in the creek bed, two plein air sketches completed on site. I could really sense the structure of paintings I wanted to do in the home studio; but with the energy and freshness of a sketch. This place had an openness, a buzz and this is what I hoped to convey.
