This painting was directly inspired by a small collage work that Diana made during her creative playtime in the studio. Using that composition as a starting point, this painting has morphed and evolved into its own new entity, but with its roots are still connected to the original source. Diana explores her love of shape-making, colour and organic abstraction in this abstract work. As with many of her paintings, this one, put together with shapes, colour and texture, represents the process of reassembling the self, as Diana comes to know herself and her work more intimately.

Creating the composition is a delicate dance of adding and taking away, creating and unsettling the balance, until all the elements finally sit with each other. This work is bold and graphic in form, echoing back perhaps to Diana’s days as a designer.
