Sydney Contemporary 2024
Our 2024 Sydney Contemporary presentation showcases a powerful exploration of female corporeality by regional artists Amber Hearn (painting) and Aleisa Miksad (ceramics), visualised through a lexicon of forms. Differing aesthetics form a critical dialogue concerning notions of the feminine through an interplay of materiality, sensuality and vulnerability, anchored in the experience of being a woman in today’s world. Hearn’s sensual abstractions, with their exploration of the bodily landscape, and Miksad’s evocative sculptural forms, investigate the nature of female embodiment and the many constructs of female identity.
