Curatorial+Co.’s highly anticipated end of year small works show, DARING (previously Darlings), invites artists to colour outside the lines of their practice through exploration, risk and play. Be bold, be brave, be DARING.

Says Kasper on why his work is DARING: “Morning Heart  is inspired by watching my sons heart beating for the first time as my wife and I attended each baby scan over the last eight months. I was really moved by the idea of a heart being so new yet have such a strong beat. To think that every single person alive came into this world the same way, all with a heart beating is amazing and I want to somehow let that influence this particular painting.

“I decided to mix fluorescent red paint with regular cadmium red for the background colour which in person has a unique feeling/look. The central share which is a deeper shade of red is referencing the heart itself, I wanted it to seem larger than life so I made it off centre and oversized for the board itself. Bringing a human into the world somehow feels like it takes a certain amount of bravery and daringness, I hope to encapsulate that into Morning Heart.”
