Natalie Rosin’s, Bondi Pavilion No.2, is part of her latest series, Built Portraiture. The series is an exploration and reinterpretation of forms, structures, and architectural patterns observed across various buildings within Sydney, the city Natalie calls home. Each piece focuses on a specific built structure located in Sydney and aims to sculpturally introduce their identity through form, pattern, silhouette, shadow, and movement.
Natalie says of this work: “This sculpture was inspired by the iconic Bondi Pavilion at Bondi Beach. As a child, I have memories of parties, devouring ice creams at the kiosk and the pottery classes held at the back. Recent renovations of the pavilion have inspired me to revisit this landmark, exploring the series of archways, new openings and respect for the enduring structure.”
