Says Kate of this work: “Hand silkscreened patterns amplify the contrast between the acrylic planes and the applied ink. I wanted to give statement between the textural contrasts, the process un-retouched or edited, distinctions honoured every piece referencing the handmade/man made juxtaposition.
Each sculpture is active in its situation, the interactions are dependent on light sources. Colour floods with saturation or is muted, obscured, every piece a portrait.”
