Brett Anthony Moore

Acrylic polymer paint skin on birch
2022
93cm H x 107cm W x 4cm D
One-of-a-kind original
Framed in Tasmanian oak with glass

Working predominantly with acrylics, Brett Anthony Moore creates initial paintings or ‘paint skins’ in his studio by experimenting and mixing an initial selected paint palette. He then leaves the experimental ‘paint skin’ to dry and contract over about a week, after which time he responds to the resulting piece, the shape it has taken on, and produces a final sculptural work.

This work features in Brett Anthony Moore’s solo exhibition Exit, Major Tom. Working with an intuitive creativity, informed by years of Vedic meditation, and grounded by a developing interest in the Sublime and The Spiritual, Exit, Major Tom encompasses an approach to spiritual intervention via the well-worn road of popular culture.
