Curatorial+Co. presents Darlings 2021, a group small works show consisting of over forty artists from across the world.
Mim Fluhrer resides and paints in her off-grid bush studio on the Mid North Coast of NSW. Her inspiration is drawn from the land she lives upon, where the night sky is vast, the gum trees are tall and the seasons are spoken in flower song. Mim’s art practice is an extension of this connection to nature, walking barefoot, collecting sticks, seed pods, and dried leaves. The journey of motherhood is woven into her mark making, her abstract forms and colour.
Says Mim of her work: ‘I love colour. I love the medium of paint. I love the shapes and forms that only nature knows how to create. I love the limitlessness of space found in this country’s landscape. I love being witness to all this, connecting to it, and then bringing it back to my studio to explore my interpretations, my questions, my dance with paint and brush.’
