This work by Ingrid Daniell, finds context by using the landscape as a metaphor for our fragile earth, climate change and our human need to belong.
Ingrid says of this work: “On the Tasman Sea, lutruwita / Tasmania, the landscape melts into the dream-like metaphor for our fragile earth, the devastation of Anthropocene, the heartbreaking loss of humanity and our continued human need to belong. I returned to the place I love, once laced with shells, time and tides bought in sand, covering the shell drift and reef; creating a beach. Watching in hope as shells turned to sand.”
