Kevin’s monoprints tap into a more painterly approach to the process of printmaking. They offer a raw and unfiltered glimpse of his brushstroke and use of colour through this process that produces one-of-a-kind works on paper.

The monoprints were created by painting oil directly onto plexiglass plates before being put through a printing press. “With these prints I am interested in simplifying and reducing the landscape down,” explains Kevin. “They are a way for me to begin abstracting the landscape motif where my chief concern is color and brushstroke as opposed to creating a scene or an environment.”
