This work will be shown in Darlings 2021, Curatorial+Co.’s annual small works group show. Darlings was created in response to the 2020 pandemic as a joyful way for artists and collectors of all backgrounds to come together and celebrate creativity and unity.

Kate Banazi’s latest series of paintings combined with custom acrylic sculptural artist frames explores the dynamics of push and pull between acceptance and rejection.

Says Kate of this work: “Each painting is active in its situation, the interactions are dependent on light sources. Colour floods with light saturation or is muted, obscured, every piece a route and a journey changeable and weather influenced.”
