This work is one of the five-piece series, Songline, by Kim Healey; a Gumbayngiir/Bundjalung artist and sister of Curatorial+Co.’s Charmaine Davis. The series of large-scale mixed media works was recently exhibited for the Reconciliation Wall at NSW Parliament House. Songline is a living narrative and ancestral mapping system that acts as a guiding line throughout the artist’s life. The series is an expression of Indigenous heritage, Country, culture and history, brought together through Healey’s multi-media art practice.
Songline is part of a special presentation by Kim Healey, installed in the gallery from 19 December 2023 – 17 January 2024. The works will be available to view through our William Street and Riley Street windows throughout the duration of our 22 December 2023 – 9 January 2024 closure.
