Says Kate of her new series: “I’ve been wandering on google maps for the past eighteen months revisiting places and associated faces in a strange digital realm. Long distant memories of places that I’d taken for granted, faces that I won’t see in the flesh for a little while longer except for glitching through a zoom murk. Each place reignites the memory of another place or event, and I’ve been searching for buildings that no longer exist along streets that I no longer recognise. Faces are drawn from photographs or from life but via a screen, the digital brought into the physical and distilled to routes and contours.
It strangely excites me, the nostalgia trip literally down Memory Lane and the relationships and places on pause, waiting to be rediscovered anew.”
