Belinda Street

May 21, 2025-June 7, 2025
The harbour, alive with the same vivacious energy as the brushstrokes in Street’s paintings, was teeming with colossal cargo ships, tugboats, ferries, recreational vessels, and the hum of industry all flow in and out, creating an unrelenting rhythm. This energy, both human and mechanical, collides with the wild, elemental force of the coastline and became the main inspiration behind this body of work.

The Song of Increase

Amanda Schunker

October 30, 2024-November 9, 2024
'The Song of Increase' is the most joyful emanation produced by a colony of bees. Is this possible for humans also? How do we find ways to raise our vibration, particularly if we find ourselves in the depths of grief and despair? Is it possible to do so collectively? Where do we return to, where time stands still?

Morgan Stokes

Georgia Bisley

August 7, 2024-August 17, 2024
Georgia Bisley’s life-size abstract ‘tapestries’ are personal artefacts of sorts where geometries, materiality and colour speak to parts of her identity. Heraldic in nature, her textiles emulate shield-like forms that reference armours of Bisley’s Celtic heritage.

Karlien van Rooyen

August 7, 2024-August 17, 2024
Karlien grew up in the small town of Kommetjie at the foot of a mountain on South Africa’s Cape Point. Affronted by unrelenting ocean storms, the town was also home to a wild and diverse ecosystem. The living space in her house was adorned by an archive of natural objects – whether inherited or collected on hunting and foraging adventures, this trove of objects formed visual imprints on her imagination.

June 26, 2024-July 13, 2024
We are thrilled to present a new body of work by First Nations & Hungarian woman and artist, Tiarna Herczeg, in our Woolloomooloo gallery. Tiarna aims to share her experience of dual identity through storytelling. Through Coloured Glass tells many stories in Tiarna’s life; certain experiences have circled her back to a preoccupation with colour and form. In her work, the block shapes symbolise how she sees the land, whilst the colours are tied to her mind and body, her spirituality and feelings. One exists in perpetuity and the other only exists for a moment in time.
In-between

In-between

Maria Kostareva

June 12, 2024-June 22, 2024
Maria's latest body of work, In-between, captures the caesura – a natural pause – of human encounters within architectural spaces. They are intimate moments characterised by an atmosphere of melancholy and silence drawn from memory and imagination. Maria uses familiar architectural settings to invite the viewer into her illusion, while her subjects move through the spaces with a temporal ambiguity. Whilst her scenes are constructed realities, they are sewn together and grounded by her real-life experiences wandering the streets of Moscow, Berlin and Tokyo.

June 12, 2024-June 22, 2024
The pieces in this show have expanded, or maybe unfurled, from a central axis to be more like portals or webs. They’re not just sculptures you look at but sculptures you can look through. They openly reveal the myriad, tenuous connections that give them structure and keep them from collapsing.

Echo

Echo

Korynn Morrison

March 20, 2024-April 6, 2024
At its core, Korynn Morrison’s debut solo exhibition, 'Echo', is an invitation to sit with Self. It explores the dance between joy and grief, connection, and disconnection — themes echoing the philosophy of Richard Schwartz's Internal Family Systems (IFS) theory. Like the theory, the exhibition posits that these paintings are checkpoints in the evolving process of self-discovery. Here, the panel becomes a sacred space where the viewer is encouraged to surrender to the enigma of their inner worlds, embracing the unfolding narrative rather than fixating on a predetermined endpoint.

DROPPING IN

DROPPING IN

Diana Miller

February 14, 2024-March 2, 2024
Join us for a new solo exhibition, Dropping In, by Diana Miller. Dropping In is a collection of abstract works that exist as unfiltered expressions of the Self. They marry Diana’s interest in the non-physical with the physical act of painting—expressions of her subconscious and the process by which she manifests the illusive into the palpable. A combination of expressive, gestural and geometric, shape-based paintings, these are autobiographical works that tell a story of Diana's interests and life experiences, influenced by her mood and daily environment. With an understanding of art as an act that magnifies the essence of the Self, painting provides a sacred space for her to channel emotions, thoughts and dreams into tangible form.

Theresa Hunt

October 4, 2023-October 21, 2023
The Corner of My Sky by Theresa Hunt, presents a profoundly introspective and emotionally resonant collection of oil paintings, inspired by her time residing in Italy, Romania and the coastal regions of Sydney. Drawing from her distinctive filmmaker's viewpoint, Theresa Hunt's paintings skilfully employ the dynamics of shifting light, shadow and perspective, luring the spectator into the complexity of the natural world and the vastness of the landscapes we encounter. Each piece mirrors a sense of wonder that resides within us, stirring our innermost emotions, and evoking a lucidity that dwells beneath the surface, in the depths of our being.

PAY ATTENTION TO THE HEAVENS

PAY ATTENTION TO THE HEAVENS

Lilli Waters

August 30, 2023-September 16, 2023
Lilli Waters' solo exhibition, Pay Attention to the Heavens, is inspired by the iconography of ancient Greek and Roman mythology, its folklore, and its religious paintings, recasting the contemporary woman as a powerful goddess of nature and a portrayal of femininity that we should celebrate, embrace, and worship. God-like enigmatic female figures are submerged within a dramatic watery cloudscape, blurring the lines between Heaven and Earth, between what we feel, and sense we may have lost within the walls of the Patriarchy. Portraying the existential dualities of light and dark, they transverse through a portal into an unknown time of fear and discomfort, longing for a deeper connection.

Curatorial+Co is delighted to present the latest solo exhibition by Lily Cummins - a series of new paintings and soft sculpture works, rich in symbols and recurring motifs, indirectly speaking to themes of loss and sorrow. Says Lily: “My practice has recently been concerned with a return to painting and installation and how the two can simultaneously coexist and diverge. This body of work is an exploration of a divergence that can occur within an inner dimension and a deeper consciousness, a dream space. The results are a strange universe of dreamlike imagery and uncanny scenes.”
DIWATA'S SONG

DIWATA'S SONG

Chloe Caday

August 2, 2023-August 12, 2023
Tracing back to pre-colonial Philippines, Chloe Caday retells stories of her motherland through Diwata’s Song, honouring her culture that is deeply rooted in folklore and mythology. Within this exhibition, Caday focuses particularly on the diwatas—spiritual beings that guard and nurture forests, caves, land or bodies of water. As a result, the paintings are a culmination of stories about these goddesses of the moon, stars, waters and sunrise, stories of forbidden loves, midnight mystique and the peculiar allure of flowers in bloom.
